Prevention of drug use and mental illness can feel impossible for parents, caregivers, and professions. But in this episode, Laurie discusses how it’s possible with Deputy Director of the Addiction Prevention Coalition, Nichole Dawsey.

Nichole and the APC mission is to begin at a young age by developing character skills and teaching kids the social skills needed as they grow up and face normal pressure in the teen years.  Laurie and Nichole dive into the brain’s development before the end of adolescence and the importance of not being the cool parent, but rather being the responsible parent.
