Laurie Dhue, former FOX, CNN and MSNBC reporter has joined the Yellowhammer News team as host of One Day at a Time, a podcast addressing the challenges and solutions facing addiction and mental health issues in Alabama. Laurie will sit down with Alabama’s influential leaders to have hard conversations about the progress being made in our state, and what more needs to be done.

Laurie is in long-term recovery from substance use disorder. One of the nation’s leading recovery advocates, she has been in continuous sobriety since March 2007. Laurie has worked closely with the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), Faces and Voices of Recovery (FAVOR) and the National Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependence (NCADD). 

Laurie has had the distinct honor of speaking at the White House twice on behalf of ONDCP. She travels around the country giving speeches, emceeing events, moderating panel discussions, as well as offering commentary in national media about recovery issues.

Laurie is Chief Brand Officer at RecoveryEducation.com, an online platform for parents and allies of teens and young adults struggling with substance use disorder.

Prior to her work in the recovery field, Laurie enjoyed a distinguished career as an award-winning national news anchor who hosted shows on all three major cable news networks: CNN, MSNBC and Fox News Channel. Her 25 years in news has included interviews with numerous world leaders, politicians, entertainers and prominent newsmakers, as well as in-depth reporting from the Middle East during the War on Terror.
