The Iron Bowl, when played in Jordan-Hare Stadium, always seems to find a way to take some sort of wacky turn, and last night’s version was the latest in a long line of craziness in this game.

After the emotional victory for Alabama, an Auburn reporter asked Nick Saban about the impact of luck on these types of games, and Saban had an answer that called back to the Kick Six:

“Well, y’all like celebrating the Kick Six. We had the ball five times inside the 25-yard line in the 3rd and 4th quarter and we were ahead by seven points and never scored a point. Made a field goal, got a penalty, y’all blocked the next one. Ran the ball to the seven yard line, got a personal foul, backed it up and didn’t score,” Saban said.

“So, we’ve been on both sides of the good fortune and the misfortune. And I gotta admit we had good fortune. But it still comes down to ability to execute.”
