National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Alabama State Director Rosemary Elebash on Thursday released a statement in response to Governor Kay Ivey’s announcement that emergency occupancy restrictions on certain businesses will be lifted effective November 8.

“This is great news,” stated Elebash.

“Small businesses are doing everything they can to get through this crisis, but they’ll never make it without customers,” she continued. “Lifting the occupancy limits on stores, fitness centers, and entertainment venues will relieve some of the financial pressure these businesses have operated under since March.”

NFIB is the nation’s largest small business advocacy organization.

“2020 has been tremendously challenging for small businesses, and it may be months before things get back to normal. I want to thank Governor Ivey for doing everything she can to help small businesses get through this crisis and avoid cutting jobs and closing their doors for good,” Elebash concluded.

This comes after NFIB recently detailed that additional federal relief is needed for most small businesses as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
