Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, will be the keynote speaker at the Huntsville Republican Women’s 30th Anniversary Celebration in October.
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 15, and will include a reception and dinner. The Huntsville Marriott on the grounds of the US Space and Rocket Center will serve as the venue.
Single tickets for the dinner are $50 and ticket packages go up from there.
Proceeds from the event will go to support Republican candidates in north Alabama and to charitable endeavors including the Wounded Warrior Project, Children’s Miracle Network and The Grace McRee Scholarship Fund.
Sen. Cruz is riding a surge in popularity among the conservative base due to his 21-hour “defund ObamaCare” filibuster on the floor of the Senate. A recent poll shows him leading the pack of potential 2016 GOP presidential candidates.
