With Regions Field’s “Birmingham” sign serving as the perfect backdrop, the crew at the non-profit bike shop Redemptive Cycles held their second annual Bike Joust over the weekend to raise money to fund their operations for the year.

Marcus Fetch and his small team at Redemptive Cycles rebuild, repair and resell used bicycles, and have created an “Earn-A-Bike” program that allows low-income and homeless individuals in the area to “buy” or build a bike in return for putting in a certain number of work hours in the shop.

The ministry has had a significant impact on the community over the last couple of years, and on top of that, their Bike Joust has become a can’t-miss spectacle, complete with brave souls perched atop double-decker bicycles doing everything they can to knock each other off.

Check it out in the video above.
