Tuberville sounds off on Democrats’ proposed $3.5 trillion spending plan — ‘They are absolutely going to put us under’

In a recent appearance on Fox Business Network’s “Kudlow,” U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) blasted Democrats’ efforts to pass their multi-trillion-dollar budget plan.

The 10-year spending plan, which has drawn fierce pushback from congressional Republicans, includes an array of progressive proposals targeted at education, infrastructure, health care and environmental-related issues.

Alabama’s junior senator expressed concerns over the nation’s ever-expanding entitlement system and stated that he believes Democrats’ spending proposals will inevitably total an estimated $5 million.

“[O]nce you start down these entitlements you can’t ever take them back. It’s almost impossible,” said Tuberville. “And there’s some things – some need things out there – but for $3.5 trillion as we speak and really it’s more than $3.5 trillion, it’ll end up being $5 trillion, you know, you put all of this together, and we’re throwing so much money out there nobody wants to go back to work.”

Tuberville believes the proposals put forth by the Biden administration and congressional Democrats disincentive work, citing Alabama’s positioning among the top states in the Union that are most in need of labor.

He added, “In Alabama right now, we’re the 11th most labor short state in the country, and we’re trying to get people to go back to work we’re having businesses go out of business, but there’s no incentives from Joe Biden. It’s all about giving instead of incentivizing people to go to work, make a plan, do the things you’re supposed to do to help the country get going again, but all these hand-outs are going to put us under. They are absolutely going to put us under.”

The senator worries massive new spending would further frustrate the inflationary state of the economy and further stated that Biden and his allies desire to transform the nation into a “big government socialism state.”

“Inflation already is sky-high. It’s going to get worse. Just keep the tax plan that you and President Trump put in, just keep us on that same direction, and if we would do that, if Joe Biden would just listen instead of listening to all his buddies about giving everything away, turning it into big government socialism state, then we’d be much, much better off,” Tuberville concluded.
