Tuberville favors inquiry after discussion with Jordan, Comer

It appears that the effort taking place within the House to impeach President Joe Biden has started to gain support within the Senate as well.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville has become one of the first members of the upper chamber to openly support the need for an impeachment inquiry.

On Wednesday, Tuberville (R-Auburn) sat down with Chairman of the House Committee on the Judiciary Jim Jordan, and James Comer, the chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, to discuss the information found during their committees’ investigations regarding the president and his family.

“I just came from a meeting with Congressman Jim Jordan and Congressman James Comer,” Tuberville said. “For the first time here in the Senate most of us just sat down and listened as they laid out the case against President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden. You know, I am absolutely shocked by the scale of the allegations and the strength of the evidence.

“We ought to be ashamed. Our media ought to be ashamed. Our institutions should be ashamed of what has gone on for the last four years without being investigated. I commend Speaker McCarthy for moving forward with an impeachment inquiry. You know, I don’t like impeachments – it holds back our country. But in this case, it needs to happen. The American people deserve the truth.”

Biden gave his opinion Wednesday on why he thinks the impeachment inquiry is being conducted.

“Well, I tell you what, I don’t know quite why, but they just knew they wanted to impeach me,” he said. “And now, the best I can tell, they want to impeach me because they want to shut down the government.”
