These Bluegrass versions of Auburn and Alabama’s fight songs will get you ready for football season

Alabama Auburn
For many Alabamians, this Monday is a little brighter than most because it marks the first week of college football season.

There are still around five days to go until Alabama and Auburn kick off, but to tide you over, Congressman Robert Aderholt shared the two schools’ fight songs, with a bluegrass twist.

“After a long cold winter and a long hot summer, football season has returned,” Rep. Aderholt shared on his Facebook page. “To celebrate the first game week of the season, we have put together two videos celebrating the fight songs of both Alabama and Auburn. I am of course a big fan of bluegrass music, so these are bluegrass versions of the songs.”

The two videos, produced by the Congressman’s office, feature the lyrics of each school’s fight song, which is played after every scoring drive and at the end of every game, as well as fun facts about the writing of the ballads.

The Bluegrass versions of the songs are part of “Pickin on Pigskin: A Bluegrass tribute to great Southern schools” by the Osborne Brothers, which can be found on iTunes.

The #6 Auburn Tigers will open the 2015 season against Louisville Saturday at 1:30 central time on CBS. #3 Alabama and #20 Wisconsin will meet in Dallas the same day for a 6 p.m. game on ABC.
