State Rep. Jack Williams, R-Vestavia Hills, has served in the Alabama House of Representatives since 2004. But back in 1994, Williams was a staffer for the Alabama House of Representatives Republican Caucus.
At an event in Birmingham last night, U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions recalled a phone call he had with Williams and a group of state legislators back in ’94. At the time, Sessions had been U.S. attorney for over a decade — having been appointed by Pres. Reagan in the 80s — but had never run for public office.
Sessions now remembers that phone call as the beginning of what would ultimately be a long career in elected office.
