The media points fingers as they ignore their role in firing people up and their double standards

The press and the president of the United States have a terrible relationship.

This relationship is made worse every day because the media realizes it helped create the Donald Trump presidency by treating it as a joke and believing he would be the easiest of all the Republicans for Hillary Clinton to beat in 2016. They muffed it, and now they are trying to “make it right” by thwarting him at every step along the way.

Travel ban, healthcare, tax cuts, net neutrality, immigration reform, Supreme Court justices and every other thing the president has attempted to accomplish has been met with not only resistance, but hostility.

That hostility has been manifesting itself in the form of angry mobs, restaurant yelling, smashed windows, weekly protests, elevator screaming and an attempted murder on a baseball field in Virginia.

Republican voters and Trump supporters truly feel like they are under assault. I talk to them every day. I fight with them on my radio show and social media, but at times I understand where they are coming from.

Now, after almost three years of political lashing out by the left, we have a very serious situation where the president’s favorite targets appear to be the target of a Trump ultra fan. Whether this is a real fan or a member of the opposition pretending to be one is something that will be hashed out in the coming days. But the media’s coverage of this event is indicative of the entire problem we are having.

The mainstream media treated the shooting in Virginia as a crazy person being crazy. They surely didn’t tone it down and neither did the Democrats.

Here is how the media and House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) handled the shooting in Virginia.

They were almost apologetic for even daring to question her and they are asking the question like it is crazy Republicans are the ones who are concerned about rhetoric.

Here is how they are handling this latest crisis.

If you don’t see the difference, you are part of the problem.

Republicans do not trust members of the media, while Democrats rely on them to carry their water. They can blame Trump’s rhetoric and that definitely plays a role in this, and he should absolutely tamp it down, but their 24/7 attacks on conservatives and their enabling of all things liberal don’t help.

Trump attacks them, they attack him. Both sides are protected by the Constitution, but both sides should dial it back.

These people are not Sean Hannity, Rachel Maddow or Chris Cuomo. They are pretending to be straight news. Stuff like this truly makes them the enemy of the people for continuing to push the divide this way.
