U.S. Rep. Dale Strong criticized President Joe Biden and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Wednesday over the plea deal made with the president’s son.
Hunter Biden will plead guilty to two misdemeanor counts of willful failure to pay federal income tax. He will also enter into a pretrial diversion agreement over a possession of a firearm by a person who is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance charge.
Strong (R-Huntsville) reacted to the news on WVNN’s “The Dale Jackson Show.”
“I believe it shows once again … that at the Department of Justice and the FBI, there’s two levels of what they do to folks,” Strong said. “I promise you if anybody in the Fifth Congressional District falsified forms to get firearms, they’re not going to get a slap on the wrist and probations or whatever it is.
“I’m just telling you right now it’s pretty disingenuous the way they presented it also.”
The congressman believes the DOJ is purposefully ignoring some of the more troubling allegations against Hunter.
“If you look at what James Comer has done, he’s absolutely done the work of the Department of Justice and the FBI,” he said. “Handed them the package, said ‘this is what’s going on. Here’s where we’re following the money through bank statements and everything else.’ Then again, they still are acting like that they don’t know what they’re talking about.
“The facts are there, but again this Department of Justice situation is absolutely off the hook, and I think the American people are seeing straight through it.”
U.S. Rep. James Comer is the chairman of the House Oversight Committee and is leading an investigation into alleged corruption and influence peddling by the Biden family.

Strong also blames the current attorney general for not doing his job in pursuing these serious allegations.
“You remember every time if Trump even had a discussion with his attorney general, all they said ‘he’s interfering.’ Merrick Garland doesn’t make a move without 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. telling him what to do,” he said. “And I’m telling you right now history is going to show what this guy did to America.”
Strong reiterated his issues with the corruption coming from the president and his son.
“The facts are the facts,” he added. “Hunter Biden is an absolute mess and he’s a bodanker, and they’re all going to have to answer for this one day in my book.”
Biden is expected to make his first court appearance related to the charges July 26.
