Stadthagen PAC campaign urges straight GOP voting

A political action committee began running ads over the weekend encouraging Alabamians to cast straight Republicans ballots in the Nov. 8 general election.

StackPAC, formed by State Rep. Scott Stadthagen (R-Hartselle), will run the ads on radio stations, digital channels, podcasts and social media platforms for two consecutive weeks.

In a statement touting the campaign effort, Stadthagen said citizens could “not afford” to forgo voting straight Republican in the general election.

“I want to make sure that conservative Republican voters across the state realize how important their vote is on November 8,” Stadthagen said in a release. “This country is at a crossroads and we need every Republican to go and vote. It takes less than 5 seconds to fill out the bubble next to Alabama Republican Party at the top of your ballot.”

“That is all you have to do to vote a straight ticket ballot. That is 5 seconds we can not afford to miss.”

The GOP is poised to continue its dominance of state politics this election cycle. Republicans outvoted Democrats nearly 4 to 1 in their parties’ gubernatorial primaries this year, which represented a 40% decline in voter participation for the state’s minority party.
