SEC unveils 2023 Alabama, Auburn football schedules

SEC football fans were offered a treat late Tuesday when the conference released its full schedule for the 2023 regular season.

The nonconference schedules for Auburn and Alabama feature a couple of marquee home-and-home matchups. Alabama will complete the second leg of its series as Texas visits Tuscaloosa in the second week of the 2023 campaign.

This will be the last matchup between the two blue blood programs before Texas makes the move to join the SEC. Additionally, Alabama will make a rare trip to a Group of 5 opponent when they head to Tampa to square off with the South Florida Bulls.

Auburn will travel to Berkeley, Calif., in the second week. The Tigers had originally planned to face off with Cal in 2020 and 2021, but it was rescheduled with the Golden Bears now coming to Auburn in September 2024.

The Tigers will also welcome in-state opponent Samford to the Plains.

In addition to the regular slate of SEC West opponents, Alabama and Auburn learned of their SEC East crossover games. Alabama and Auburn have SEC East rivals that are always mainstays on the schedule (Alabama-Tennessee and Auburn-Georgia).

Alabama will travel to Lexington, Ky., in mid-November to take on the Wildcats while Auburn will visit Nashville for a matchup with Vanderbilt.
