Pro-Palestinian protest held in Birmingham – Tuberville calls for deportation of Hamas supporters

Roughly a hundred protestors showed up to a rally in support of the Palestinians in Gaza on Saturday, as Israel had just began to respond to attacks by the terrorist group Hamas.

The protestors called for independence for Gaza and the West Bank. They also urged an end to the Israeli offensive against Gaza, an end to U.S. financial and military support for the state of Israel, and denounced the Israeli government.

Dr. Aasim Shiba, an oncologist at the Cancer Care Center of Anniston, attended and posted about the rally on X.

Most Alabama leaders have declared their support for Israel in a tactical and existential fight with Hamas and its financial backers. On Thursday, U.S. Sen Tommy Tuberville called to revoke the visas of Hamas supporters.

“Federal law bans terrorists or terrorist sympathizers from entering our country,” Tuberville (R-Auburn) said.

“Hamas is a terrorist group. Under the law, anyone who supports them should not be admitted into this country. That most certainly includes any students here on visas who are out protesting right now. If foreign nationals in our country support Hamas, then they should get the hell out and go to Gaza.”

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) is promoting a resolution calling on President Biden to enforce existing law by revoking the visas of foreign nationals who endorse or espouse terrorist activity, including those who defend or support Hamas.

Senate Democrats blocked Rubio’s resolution calling for the cancellation of terrorist sympathizers’ visas.

Hamas terrorists came across the Israeli border in force killing indiscriminately on October 7.

On Wednesday, Israel’s war cabinet approved entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza from Egypt after a one-hour meeting with U.S. President Joseph R. Biden (D) in Tel Aviv. Biden said he welcomed the decision and stressed aid would be suspended if Hamas tried to take control of it.

“What is happening in Israel is pure evil,” Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) said at a joint press conference this week. “Hamas terrorists don’t care how many men are killed, how many women are raped, and how many children — babies and toddlers — are kidnapped.” “We must stand shoulder to shoulder with Israel as they eradicate Hamas terrorists.”

Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and their allies in Lebanon have fired over 3,000 rockets into Israel in the last ten days. Hama fighters killed more than 1,300 Israelis and wounded over 2,800. At least 30 Americans are among the dead with 15 whose whereabouts are still not known. Some of them are believed to be among the nearly 200 captives taken by Hamas.
