‘Prisoner of Love’: Casey and Vicky White romantic crime saga inspires movie

The Lauderdale County jailbreak featuring prisoner Casey White and correctional officer Vicky White has been given the Hollywood treatment.

Now available for viewing on streaming service Tubi, “Prisoner of Love” details the love saga that captured the nation this year. The movie, produced by Marvista Entertainment, details the events that transpired over the course of an 11-day manhunt.

The couple, who bare no relation to one another, formed a romantic partnership while Casey White was detained in the Lauderdale County Jail in Florence. Vicky White assisted the inmate’s escape in April.

Authorities embarked on a large-scale search for the two, which concluded in Vanderburgh County, Ind., by way of a police chase that resulted in a crash.

With Casey White returned to police custody, law enforcement officers found Vicky White in the vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head. She later died at a local hospital.

Casey White, who holds a murder charge stemming from the 2020 death of a Rogersville woman, has been charged with the former correctional officer’s murder.

The real-life drama, directed by film producer Jodi Binstock, can be streamed for free on the ad-supported service.
