Planned Parenthood continues assault on right-to-life in Alabama & across the country

Pro-abortion advocates often like to say that no one likes abortion, that it is an unfortunate part of being a woman in today’s society.

But actions speak so much louder than words.

Yesterday, in response to the White House’s twitter campaign #WhatWomenNeed for Valentine’s Day, Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards posted a vine video flipping through some of the things that she believes women would want for Friday’s holiday.

The star of the show? Abortion.

I don’t know about you, but I’d much rather have a heart-shaped box of chocolates and a steak dinner.

While Planned Parenthood does provide other services for women, including mammograms and women’s wellness exams, their crown jewel is and always will be being an abortion provider.

Despite all the rhetoric about how government spending helps the needy, the left proves over and over again that it has no desire to protect the most vulnerable among us. In fiscal year 2013 Planned Parenthood received $540.6 million, or almost half of their budget, from the federal government, and performed nearly one third of abortions in the US.

Thanks in part to new Women’s health and safety laws like those in Alabama that hold abortion clinics accountable to the same standards of other medical facilities, women are having abortions at lower levels than any in recent history. Common sense tells us that since abortion is currently legal, Planned Parenthood would be on board with laws that fulfill their other stated goal of making them as safe to the would-be mother as possible. Yet Planned Parenthood and other groups like it are trying to kill the health and safety laws in Alabama and several other states.

In an ironic twist, Ms. Richards also held up another sign during the video which read “To make our own health decisions,” which is a right being taken away from women and men daily as millions of Americans lose their health insurance due to Obamacare.
