Morgan Wallen, Alabama to headline Rock the South 2022 in festival’s biggest lineup ever

Rock the South will return to Cullman, Alabama, August 5-6, 2022 as the South’s biggest party is set to feature its most star-studded lineup to date.

Pepsi Rock the South organizers driven by Mitch Smith Chevrolet on Monday announced the festival’s headliners, which will be Morgan Wallen and ALABAMA. Accompanying them will be HARDY, Jamey Johnson, Koe Wetzel, Jimmie Allen, Colt Ford, Matt Stell and Dee Jay Silver. Organizers will announce additional artists in the coming weeks.

Morgan Wallen has quickly emerged as the next big thing in country music as the “Whiskey Glasses” artist holds over 4 billion streams to his name, along with multi-platinum certifications and four consecutive chart-toppers.

Most recently, his album Dangerous: The Double Album, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 Albums chart as it boasted the biggest streaming week in history for a country album.

Rock the South founder Shane Quick touted the festival landing the country superstar as a tremendous achievement for the festival.

“Morgan Wallen is one of the most highly-acclaimed rising stars in country music, and we are excited to welcome him to Rock The South to join our best lineup to date,” said Quick. “He has been our most requested artist in the eleven-year history of the festival, and we are excited to give our fans what they have been asking for.”

In announcing the 2022 Rock the South lineup, organizers made note of over $1 million worth of investments which will be utilized toward facility improvements to enhance the attendee experience.

“Alabama weather in the summer can be unpredictable, and the Pepsi Rock The South team is making enhancements to the entire venue,” advised Quick. “These changes include more parking options, additional restrooms and RV upgrades.”

The festival was launched in 2012 and has built a legacy of charitable support in assisting local Alabama communities.

“Cullman is our home, and we want to enhance the beautiful space that has hosted Rock The South for the past ten years,” said Quick. “As the festival has grown in size during the past decade, we have been able to explore and expand on ideas for needed enhancements.”

Joining Wallen in headlining the “Biggest Party in the South” will be Fort Payne’s very own legendary country band, ALABAMA. The band holds a record 21-straight number one hits, and ALABAMA has sold over 73 million albums. The iconic band is enshrined in the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Tickets to the annual festival will be available for purchase beginning November 9 at 10:00 a.m. CT. at www.rockthesouth.com. General admission tickets start at $89, and VIP tickets start at $299.

Organizers note that this year’s VIP attendees will enjoy an upgraded experience from past years, including a parking pass, cooled tents to escape the August heat, private restrooms and private access to concessions. Each ticket tier has limited quantities available, so purchasing tickets early will offer attendees the best price.
