Moore, Tuberville blast ‘corrupt’ Trump indictment

Republican members of Alabama’s congressional delegation criticized the federal indictment against former President Donald Trump over alleged mishandling of classified documents.

This is the first time in history a former president has been charged with a federal crime.

Trump announced his indictment on Truth Social Thursday, declaring his innocence.

“I have been summoned to appear at the Federal Courthouse in Miami on Tuesday, at 3 PM,” Trump said. “I never thought it possible that such a thing could happen to a former President of the United States, who received far more votes than any sitting President in the History of our Country, and is currently leading, by far, all Candidates, both Democrat and Republican, in Polls of the 2024 Presidential Election. I AM AN INNOCENT MAN!”

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) responded to the indictment, saying it’s just another example of the corruption that now exists in the U.S. Department of Justice.

“Tonight’s news is another alarming chapter in the complete weaponization of our government,” Moore said. “Biden’s corrupt Justice Department has gone after parents, Catholic parishioners, pro-life Christians, and now his top political opponent.

“America’s political battles belong at the ballot box, not in the hands of Biden’s DOJ.”

U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) believes this is all a part of a “witch hunt” against the former president and current front runner of the GOP primary.

“This is yet another witch hunt against the Republican front runner,” Tuberville said. “Joe Biden was found to have classified information in Delaware, Philadelphia, and Boston, and just this week, the House reviewed damning documents that may expose corrupt and criminal acts by Joe Biden.

“This is also the same Biden Department of Justice that treated concerned parents like terrorists. The Biden Administration has forced us into a two-tiered, politicized justice system in this country.”
