U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville), candidate for Alabama’s open U.S. Senate seat, on Monday released his campaign’s second television advertisement of the 2022 GOP primary election cycle.
In keeping with his campaign pledge to oppose Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), the ad takes aim at the long-serving GOP leader. The ad release comes after Brooks’ campaign last month launched its “Fire McConnell” tour.
The 30-second spot asserts that Brooks being the target of negative ad spending is a result of the congressman “being a true conservative.”
“Since 2010, Mo Brooks has been one of the most conservative guys in Washington,” says the ad narrator. “Weak, big spending, open border Republicans, Mo’s fought them all. But there’s a cost of being a true conservative, and the swamp hates Mo Brooks. That’s why Mitch McConnell spent over $15 million attacking him. Washington RINOs don’t want a Senator Mo Brooks, but Alabama conservatives do.”
Watch:
In a statement announcing the ad, Brooks campaign co-chair Stan Mcdonald declared that the candidate was the “only conservative” in the race.
“Mo Brooks has spent his entire career fighting for the America First agenda,” proclaimed Mcdonald. “His proven record is why the Socialist Democrats, RINOs and special interest groups all hate him, and why they are ALL IN supporting his opponents. While we’re proud of his steadfast proven conservative record serving the people of Alabama, there is a reason his opponents are spending millions to run from their records.”
Mcdonald added, “America is at a crossroads, and we can ill afford to send a Liz Cheney or John McCain RINO to Washington who think that millions in slick TV ads and campaign trail rhetoric can hide their liberal pasts. The time for cheap talk and weak promises is over. Mo Brooks is the ONLY conservative in this race.”
