Thursday, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas testified in front of the House Judiciary Committee and defended the Biden administration’s management of the southern border.
“Under this administration, our department has been executing a comprehensive strategy to secure our borders and rebuild our immigration system,” Mayorkas said.
U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville) disagrees with Mayorkas and is openly calling for President Joe Biden and Mayorkas to be removed from office over the administration’s failed border policies.
Brooks joined WVNN’s “The Yaffee Program” Friday and blasted the administration over the crisis at the southern border.
“[T]he Biden administration ought to be held accountable,” Brooks said. “Joe Biden ought to be impeached based on violating his oath to defend and protect the Constitution. Mayorkas should go with him.”
The congressman said the White House was not being truthful about what was really going on at the border.
“This is all a big lie by the Biden administration,” he argued, “to try and make it look like one thing when all over the United States, every citizen of the United States can see what’s going on with their own eyes.”
Brooks, who is also a candidate for U.S. Senate, then explained why Americans should be concerned about Biden’s immigration policies.
“It is wild, wild west at our southern border,” he continued. “There is no law and order. American citizens are getting killed. American citizens are having their wages suppressed and their jobs lost because of this huge surge in the illegal alien labor supply.”
He believes this is all proof that Biden and Mayorkas are not living up to their constitutional duties.
“The American people know that the Biden administration and Mayorkas have violated Article 4, Section 4 of the United State Constitution,” he said, “which makes it the duty of the federal government to protect the states from an invasion, and that’s exactly what is transpiring.”
Brooks admitted that there was not a lot Republicans could do about it now since Democrats controlled Congress.
“Unfortunately Democrats control the House and the Senate,” he explained, “so nothing can be done because Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer would not dare allow votes on these kinds of issues.”
