Jefferson County probate judge, daughter seriously injured, wife killed in Colorado hit-and-run

Jefferson County Probate Judge, Alan King, along with his wife and daughter, were victims of a hit-and-run in Denver on Thursday night.

According to 9News in Colorado, all three were taken to the hospital, where the judge’s wife, Karen, passed away from her injuries.

Judge King and Kendall King, his daughter who lives in Denver, were reportedly admitted to the hospital in serious condition.

The parents were in town visiting Kendall for Thanksgiving.

The station reported, “Police said the driver barreled through the intersection and ran a red light before hitting the victims.”

As of Friday evening, no suspect had been arrested for striking the pedestrians and fleeing the scene.

King, a Democrat who was appointed by President Donald Trump to his now-defunct election integrity commission in 2017, ran unopposed in this year’s general election to win a fourth term as presiding probate judge of Alabama’s largest county.

The Trussville Tribune is reporting that friends of the family are “asking that people remember Judge King and his daughter in their prayers.”
