Monday, gubernatorial candidate Lew Burdette released his new television advertisement that will start playing across the Yellowhammer State this week.
Burdette first posted the ad on Twitter, saying, “See my new TV ad that debuts across our state tomorrow and let’s spread the word that Alabama has a choice in this election. It’s time to be out with the old and in with new! As Governor, I want to bring new energy and new leadership to Alabama.”

The 30-second spot features the candidate on a football field holding an old football in front of the goal post.
“In Alabama we love our football don’t we?” The candidate asks in the ad. “If any of our coaches performed like lifetime politicians in Montgomery, would any of them have a job at the end of the season? No!”
Burdette then notes how Alabama ranks low in education, health care and prisons.
“Just like this old football here,” he continues while throwing away the old football and being tossed a new one, “it’s time to be out with old and in with the new.”
In the last poll released in this race by Emerson College Polling and The Hill, Burdette was in fourth with 4% support, while Gov Kay Ivey was first with 48%, followed by Tim James with 11% and Lindy Blanchard with 8%.
