An inmate on work release who escaped from a job site in Centre Monday morning has been captured in Georgia. Cherokee County Police say that Jimmy Wayne Blair left a construction site at approximately 10:30 a.m. in a truck belonging to his employer. He attempted to flee to Georgia, likely heading for his hometown of Silver Creek.

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies immediately posted Blair’s picture on their various social media accounts. It is unclear whether social media led to this specific arrest; however, the department has had success capturing suspects using social media before.

Blair (39) was arrested around 11 p.m. Monday night by Cherokee County and Floyd County, GA Sheriff’s deputies. He was originally being held on property crime charges for which he was arrested in 2016. He was previously being held on a $10,500 bond.
