Donald Trump, Jr. congratulates Barry Moore on AL-02 GOP runoff victory — ‘He knows how to MAGA’

Donald Trump, Jr. on Wednesday congratulated former State Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise), who won a hard-fought victory in Tuesday’s Republican primary runoff contest to represent Alabama’s Second Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The president’s eldest son highlighted Moore being the first elected official in the country to endorse then-candidate Donald Trump in 2015.

Moore responded to “Don Jr.” in a tweet of his own.

“Thanks … I appreciate your family and [President Trump] for sacrificing to make America great! Can’t wait to get to DC to help out! Thanks again!” Moore tweeted.

He will face Democrat Phyllis Harvey-Hall in November’s general election.

The AL-02 seat is being vacated by the retirement of popular U.S. Rep. Martha Roby (R-Montgomery), who chose not to seek reelection after five terms in Congress.
