U.S. Rep.-elect Dale Strong (R-Huntsville) announced his congressional transition committee Thursday as he prepares to take office Jan. 3.
The 20-member committee will be chaired by Joey Ceci, president of Huntsville-based Breland Companies.
Ceci has long been involved in local politics and government. He haspreviously served as the Commerce, Transportation and Legislative director for the Madison County Commission. Ceci also was campaign chairman for each of Strong’s bids for public office.
Strong’s transition committee represents a broad composition of the Fifth Congressional District by background and geography. Committee members will serve in an advisory role to the congressman-elect as he assembles his staff, develops his legislative agenda and begins his term in Congress.
In a statement accompanying the announcement, Strong said the Tennessee Valley leaders on his transition committee hold “a lifetime of experience” in their respective fields of expertise.
“I look forward to working with this group of leaders as I begin my service in Washington,” said Strong. “They each bring a lifetime of experience across the industries and communities that make up the Fifth District and I want to benefit from that knowledge.”
