Dale Strong ad touts 2016 Trump support, ‘America First’ agenda — ‘In Congress I want to follow his plan’

The campaign of Dale Strong, Republican hopeful for Alabama’s open fifth congressional district seat, has hit Tennessee Valley airwaves with a new television advertisement touting the candidate’s early support of former President Donald Trump.

The 30-second spot details Strong’s efforts in organizing a North Alabama rally for Trump during the Yellowhammer State’s 2016 GOP presidential primary. Strong’s campaign also details his support of the former president’s “America First” agenda.

“When the RINOs tried to stop Trump in 2016, Dale Strong stepped up and put together one of his largest rallies ever,” says the ad narrator. “A true Trump conservative, Dale Strong knows that rebuilding America means embracing the America First agenda. That’s why Dale Strong will defend the right to life and the Second Amendment. And Dale Strong will defend America by securing our borders and ending illegal immigration. Strong under fire — Trump conservative Dale Strong for Congress.”

In announcing his new TV spot, Strong outlined his work to plan the 2016 rally when Trump’s campaign could not identify “anyone that would stand up” in support of the eventual Republican nominee.

“I have been a proud Trump supporter from day one,” declared the Madison County Commission chairman. “During the Alabama primary in 2016 Donald Trump‘s campaign called me because they could not find anyone that would stand up and put together a rally in north Alabama. I went to work and with his team we put together the largest rally of his campaign to that point.”

“In Congress I want to follow his plan to stop illegal immigration, cut spending and protect the unborn,” he concluded.

Strong, who is the race’s apparent frontrunner, has maintained his lead in the fundraising battle as Federal Election Commission (FEC) records show that he outraised the crowded primary field by a significant margin during the first quarter of 2022, hauling in $218,343.

The primary election will take place May 24, 2022. Should no candidate earn more than 50% of the vote, a runoff election will be held June 21, 2022.
