Crimson Tide makes history, finishes greatest SEC season ever at No. 1

Zack Shaw, Paul Shashy

The Alabama Crimson Tide capped the greatest SEC season ever with its win over Florida in Atlanta, and the Tide is now only two games away from completing its submission into the discussion of greatest teams in college football history.

Alabama’s dominance this season can be summarized by the fact that DeVonta Smith, Mac Jones and Najee Harris are deserving of a 1-2-3 finish in the race for the Heisman Trophy.

While the Tide awaits news of its semifinal opponent in the college football playoff, coaches, players and fans of the program can bask in its 11-0 record in SEC play, a feat never before accomplished.

So it is no surprise that Alabama continues its permanent residence at No. 1.
