‘College GameDay’ headed to Troy-Appalachian State game

ESPN’s college football pregame show, “College GameDay,” will be in Boone, N.C., for the Appalachian State-Troy game Saturday.

Appalachian State is coming off a 17-14 upset victory last Saturday over Texas A&M in College Station. The Mountaineers sent shockwaves through the college football world with their win over the then-No.6 ranked team in the country.

Troy enters with a record of 1-1. The Trojans had an impressive performance against Ole Miss in Week 1, before falling 28-10. However, they bounced back last week to defeat Alabama A&M 38-17.

The highly anticipated game between the Sun Belt Conference foes has resulted in a sellout of reserved tickets and hotel rooms in the area. The show provides a tremendous opportunity to showcase both universities and their programs.

The visit to Boone will be a first for the “GameDay.” However, this will be Troy’s second time on the show; the Trojans’ debut was on the U.S.S. San Diego in 2012 ahead of the Troy-Navy matchup.

The “College GameDay” set will be staged at the Sanford Mall. Fans making the trip can begin entering at 5 a.m. ET; the show starts at 9. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. and the game can be viewed on ESPN+.
