Birmingham businessman Brad Tompkins has landed the endorsement of Manufacture Alabama in his Republican bid for the Alabama House of Representatives, District 15.
Tompkins, the owner of engineering company Automated Solutions, Inc., asserted that he understood the issues facing Alabama’s manufacturing industry due to his private sector experience.
“I’m excited to receive the endorsement of Manufacture Alabama. They represent hundreds of companies and tens of thousands of jobs across our state,” the candidate noted in a release. “Manufacturing is hugely important to our economy. A lot of the work I’ve done related to workforce development is also directly related to high-paying, in-demand jobs in manufacturing.”
Tompkins added, “We need people in Montgomery who understand how businesses and the economy actually work, and how all these big-government regulations and red tape impacts a company’s ability to grow and expand. I understand it because I’ve lived it.”
According to Manufacture Alabama president George Clark, Tompkins would be a “champion for business” as a member of the legislature.
“Brad Tompkins is exactly the type of pro-business and pro-manufacturing candidate that our members want to support,” proclaimed Clark. “We are excited to endorse Brad’s campaign for the Alabama State House. Brad has a proven track record running a successful company. He understands manufacturing and the needs of Alabama businesses. We know that Brad will be a champion for business and are thankful that he would consider public service.”
Tompkins will meet Helena City councilwoman Leigh Hulsey in the May 24, 2022, Republican primary election.
