Last Sunday, on the final day of competition for The World Games, a formal check presentation was made hours before the closing ceremony at Birmingham’s Protective Stadium.

The check total amounting to $54,000 was accrued through a plan to donate $1 from every ticket and item of The World Games 2022 merchandise sold since April 1. The funds are designated to help benefit the Ukrainian Community and Sports Movement through the Olympic Solidarity Fund.

Sergey Bubka, the president of Ukraine’s National Olympic Committee and a former gold medalist, said, “Solidarity all over the world for Ukraine is so huge. It’s amazing. Thank you very much for your support, for you believing in us.”

“We will never forget your support. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart, and this is something very special,” he added.
