Capstone Building of Birmingham has broken ground on a $13.45 million multifamily project in West Point, Ga., the company said in a news release.

The general contractor is partnered with developer Pennrose and architect firm Kitch & Associates for the garden-style affordable housing project.

“Capstone Building Corp. is looking forward to being a part of another impactful project by Pennrose,” Jay Chapman, president and CEO of Capstone, said in the release. “We are excited to provide quality affordable housing to the West Point community with this new garden-style development.”

West Point Village will include 72 units with six available styles ranging from one to three bedrooms. The development will also provide a community garden, clubhouse, meeting/community room, exercise facility, off street parking and on-site management.

Since 1997, Capstone has completed a portfolio of 119 projects in 22 states from design to post-construction. The portfolio is valued at more than $2 billion.
