Members of the Alabama congressional delegation are once again criticizing President Joe Biden’s border policies after learning that a smuggler with ties to ISIS helped migrants cross the border and claim asylum.
According to reports, the FBI claims the smuggler with connections to the terrorist group brought more than a dozen migrants from different countries into the U.S. that have since been released into the interior of the country.
Now Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, is accusing Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas of misleading Congress on the issue and is demanding answers from him.
A foreign national with ties to ISIS helped smuggle over 120 foreign nationals into the USA.
The smuggled foreign nationals arrived at the border, claimed asylum, and were released into the country.
This seems to directly contradict Secretary Mayorkas's testimony under oath. pic.twitter.com/KpgUvGCxvv

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) believes this is proof Mayorkas lied to Congress about the threat.
“Mayorkas suggested to [the House Judiciary Committee] that migrants who present a national security threat are detained and prioritized for removal,” Moore said on social media. “How can that be true when a smuggler with ISIS ties managed to get 120 foreign nationals released into our country?”

Moore also released a statement, calling on his colleagues in the Senate to pass legislation to secure the border.
“Americans deserve better,” he argued. “House Republicans passed H.R. 2, the ‘Secure the Border Act,’ to stop this nonsense. H.R. 2 would end Biden’s catch-and-release policy, increase the number of border agents and their salary, strengthen existing law to prevent children from being trafficked, and force the Biden Administration to restart construction on the southern border wall. I urge the Senate to pass this legislation and get us one step closer to ending this crisis.”
U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) said the border crisis is a national security issue.
Border security is national security.@HouseGOP passed H.R. 2, our Secure the Border Act of 2023, to prevent situations like this from happening. It's time for the Biden administration and Washington Democrats to take the border crisis seriously.https://t.co/KU9kr35i9E

U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Saks), chair of the House Armed Services Committee, said he is “appalled at the Biden Administration’s willful ignorance toward the border.”
Biden’s open border is a national security disaster and terrorists are exploiting that. I am appalled at the Biden Administration’s willful ignorance toward the border. https://t.co/lcwyLkSnIW

U.S. Rep. Jerry Carl (R-Mobile) argued that this is just proof Biden’s policies are making America “less safe.”
This is just another horrific example of the terrible things going on at the southern border. Terrorist organizations are taking full advantage of our open borders, and it’s making ALL our communities less safe. https://t.co/LnllavwXdX
