Bama’s win over Michigan announced as one of most-watched Citrus Bowl games ever

ESPN’s press room on Thursday announced that the January 1, 2020 Citrus Bowl between the University of Alabama Crimson Tide and Michigan was ABC’s most watched college football bowl game since the 2010 National Championship game.

The latest Citrus Bowl generated an audience of 14,003,000 television viewers for the network.

Among Citrus Bowls all-time, the audience for the 35-16 Bama win was the bowl’s fourth-largest dating back to at least the 1991 season and its best since the 2008 season. The bowl was founded in 1947 as the Tangerine Bowl.

This season’s College Football Playoff National Championship will be played Monday, January 13, in New Orleans between LSU and Clemson.
