When it comes to college football, tradition is the name of the game. Each team has its own unique rituals before the big event. From Florida State’s Chief Osceola with his flaming spear to Hawaii performing the Haka, these ceremonies are sacred, and almost as important as the actual pigskin.

In a list put together by USA Today’s College Football Fan Index earlier this week, Auburn’s Tiger Walk has been named one of the 10 best college football entrances in the nation.

In case you don’t know, the Tiger Walk takes place two hours before kickoff at every Auburn home game. As the team walks from the school’s athletic complex to Jordan-Hare Stadium, fans line Donahue Drive and cheer on the players.

“What the Tiger Walk lacks in unbridled emotion it makes up for in community spirit,” writes Alan Siegal for USA Today.

According to auburntigers.com, the largest Tiger Walk occurred on December 2, 1989, when Alabama came to Auburn’s campus for the first time. It’s estimated that 20,000 fans showed up for the Tiger Walk on that day.
