The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency shared a lighthearted moment on Facebook from a serious incident of reckless driving on U.S. 231 in Pike County.
According to the post, Senior Trooper Caitlyn Ramirez clocked a red Camaro going 155 mph in a 65 mph zone.
With Ramirez in pursuit, the Camaro driver topped out at 165 mph.
When questioned about the extreme speed, the driver replied, “I just got the car three days ago and wanted to see how fast it would go.”
That didn’t earn the driver any grace but did earn him a charge of reckless endangerment and a ride to the Pike County Jail.
“Traveling at speeds this fast not only endangers your life but also the lives of everyone around you. If caught traveling at these speeds, you will go to jail,” ALEA wrote.
