In what was one of the bigger slates of the season in college football, the viewership numbers certainly reflected just that.
Penn State and Ohio State, which was featured on FOX’s “Big Noon Kickoff” drew in a staggering 9.96 million viewers, while Tennessee and Alabama brought in 8.01 million.
According to SportsMediaWatch, the viewership on the Big-10 was the third-largest audience of the season, behind another game the Buckeyes were involved in (at Notre Dame) and Colorado vs. Oregon.
It also peaked at over 11 million viewers and was the largest audience a FOX game has seen this season, even barely eclipsing last year’s Alabama vs. Texas game.
The Alabama Tennessee game, meanwhile, peaked at nearly 10 million views (9.78 million). According to The Tennessean, it was also the most watched week eight game in the SEC since 2016.
More impressive college football viewership numbers roll in:
9.96 million watch Ohio State-Penn State.
8.01 million watch Tennessee-Alabama.Two more games exceed 8 million threshold. NIL doomsday predictions fall flat. https://t.co/kArnxX5cWH

Not that anyone needed a reminder, but college football is still wildly popular throughout the entire nation.
