Alabama Medical Association to host Facebook livestream addressing vaccine, pregnancy and infertility concerns

The Alabama Medical Association on Thursday will host a Facebook Live webcast with State Health Officer Dr. Scott Harris and Dr. Mimi Munn, a maternal-fetal physician who is professor and chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at USA Health.

The physicians will address questions about COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy related to pregnancy and infertility. The format allows viewers to watch the discussion and submit questions. Dr. Aruna Arora, the president of the Medical Association, will also take part in the discussion.

Dr. Arora says those who have questions or concerns related to vaccination should seek the advice of their physician.

“There is a lot of misinformation surrounding the vaccines, pregnancy and infertility,” said Dr. Arora. “The Medical Association is pleased to host this event where people can get the accurate and reliable information they need. It’s perfectly normal to have questions, and anyone with questions about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines should talk to a medical doctor.”

The Alabama Medical Association hosts weekly Facebook Live COVID-19 discussions which take place every Thursday at 4 p.m. CST. The livestreamed conversations host Dr. Harris and various medical professionals to discuss concerns related to the pandemic.

The public is invited to watch and participate, which will be streamed live on the Medical Association’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/MedicalAssnAlabama.
