Alabama Farmers Federation rolls out second string of state legislature endorsements

The Alabama Farmers Federation (ALFA) on Wednesday announced its second slate of endorsements for lawmakers seeking reelection to the state legislature.

An endorsement from ALFA is widely seen across the state as being one of great significance. The influential agriculture advocacy organization holds a membership roll of over 340,000, which includes representation from all 67 counties in the state of Alabama.

ALFA utilizes its political arm, FarmPAC, in the endorsement of candidates seeking election to statewide and local offices.

The following candidates for the Alabama Legislature now hold an official endorsement from FarmPAC:

  • State Sen. Steve Livingston (R-Scottsboro)
  • State Sen. Sam Givhan (R-Huntsville)
  • State Sen. Arthur Orr (R-Decatur)
  • State Sen. Jabo Waggoner (R-Vestavia Hills)
  • State Sen. Tim Melson (R-Florence)
  • State Rep. Debbie Wood (R-Valley)

The endorsements were met with adulation from each candidate, praising ALFA for its efforts in protecting the interests of the state’s agricultural community. County representatives from the candidates’ respected districts commended legislative efforts the elected officials have partaken in to benefit farmers across the state.

ALFA last week announced its first string of endorsements for candidates seeking reelection to the legislature. Additionally, the organization last month announced FarmPAC’s endorsement of statewide and congressional candidates for the 2022 primary elections.
