Add Oden to the list of state politicians opposing the Biden vaccine mandate

Alabama Public Service Commissioner Jeremy Oden joined the list of state politicians coming out against the Biden administration’s vaccine mandate.

Oden released a statement over the weekend criticizing the edict, which he described as an “overreach.”

Statement reads as follows:

It’s been my honor and my privilege to serve as your Public Service Commissioner since 2012. From the very beginning of my time at the PSC, we have fought against overreach from the federal government – and specifically from the Obama and Biden administrations – in energy policy. Your Alabama Public Service Commission has stood firm against that overreach, which would have cost Alabama and America jobs and would have cost Alabamians every month through higher utility bills.

Now our country is confronted with a new overreach from the Biden administration. Like the previous instances of overreach in energy policy, this is a power grab by the federal government and an infringement of the constitutional rights of American citizens.

I oppose the Biden Federal vaccine mandates 100% and stand in strong support of all Alabamians who demand that their constitutional rights be respected. No American citizen should ever be forced through fear and intimidation to make healthcare choices.

Oden has announced his intention to seek reelection in 2022.
