7 Things: Republicans lose but promise to learn nothing; media, law enforcement move along, don’t look at Bubba Copeland; and more …

7. U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) is an anti-Semite and she has been censured for it. Her Democratic colleagues took to the floor to make the case that she is just misunderstood and really doesn’t know what “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” actually means but, in reality, Hamas knows it and so does she.

6. U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) says that there should be no more taxpayer-funded transgender research on minors and has signed on to a bill saying as much. The sponsor of the No Taxpayer Funding for Researchers Who Prey on Children Act by U.S. Rep. Josh Brecheen (R-Okla.) says, “Americans should be outraged to learn that nearly $31 million of our taxpayer dollars are funding youth transgender studies that have even led to the suicides of two participants.”

5. Alabama still allows ballot harvesting for some reason, Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen wants that ended in 2024 and State Sen. Garland Gudger (R-Cullman) is carrying a bill that would do just that.

4. U.S. Reps. Terri Sewell (D-Birmingham) and Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) want to keep Birmingham-Southern College open and are imploring State Treasurer Young Boozer to take on a loan he doesn’t think the school can repay to make it happen. Birmingham-Southern needs alumni, the city of Birmingham, and Jefferson County to step up and take this issue on.

3. Pressure continues to mount on U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) to lift his holds related to the Pentagon’s illegal abortion policy. Some suggest Tuberville is ready to make some sort of deal to end the stalemate but Tuberville seems to disagree.

2. Alabama’s media continues to insist that any investigation into now-deceased Smiths Station Mayor Bubba Copeland’s behavior is inappropriate and against the standards of journalism, now it appears that local law enforcement agrees. There are multiple “victims” of Copeland’s behavior but the focus seems to be on excusing his behavior because of his apparent transgender status, no matter how hypocritical that may be from our First Amendment-loving journalist.

1. Republicans lose everywhere (Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio), distrust anyone telling you otherwise. There is a lesson here that many Republicans are unable to learn, they pledge to to continue doing the same thing, with the same people, making same complaints, and losing harder, which is suicidal.
