7 Things: Massive majority of Americans support Israel; Rogers seeking Speaker deal; and more …

7. Samford Professor C. T. Burks has worked hard to cover up any potentially inconvenient comments he has made about the Israel/Hamas conflict after his words drew criticism from students. The Alabama university all but admitted the criticism he has received is valid by stating, “The administration has spoken with the instructor in question who reconfirmed he was in no way trying to justify the actions of Hamas, and laments that his comments were misinterpreted.”

6. Not sure how many times lawmakers need to tell schools and libraries that they are going to end up getting legislation passed to clean up their houses if they refuse to do so themselves.

5. Huntsville cop, William “Ben” Darby,  gets probation for shooting a suspect with a gun to his head after being convicted and then having that case thrown out. Madison County’s DA says he has a “satisfying feeling” about this conclusion.

4. Auburn head basketball coach Bruce Pearl is not backing down, even as criticism mounts, saying, “We need a strong Israel to be able to ally with her peaceful Arab neighbors and deal the terrorist regime in Iran. And Hamas must be destroyed, not for revenge, but for the safety of everyone living in the Middle East!”

3. Calls of traitor, RINO, and Uniparty are all too common in American politics amongst the right, especially when simply explaining the disagreement might be better. So it should come as no surprise that U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Saks) is being called those things after working to get a Speaker of the House elected with Democratic help. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) is still running and has the support of many Alabama Republicans.

2. Potential good news for the Israelis and the world in general, IF Iran can be trusted, as Iran declared it will not intervene militarily in the conflict to the United Nations. But over the weekend, Iran also warned Israel that it would intervene if it did not stop its war of self-defense.

1. Even though a VAST majority of Americans (96%) support Israel in this conflict, the American media and their Democrats worked overtime this weekend to malign the state of Israel and demand that their new best friends at Hamas be given a mulligan for murdering 1,500+ civilians and targeting children. These people would not be cheering for Palestinians had they not elected Hamas and then slaughtered innocent children for their cause.
