7 Things: AL congressmen react to debt deal; Tuberville triggered a bunch of people; and more …

7. Alabama teen Natalie Hollaway’s suspected killer has been severely beaten in Peruvian jail. The attack comes a few days before he was expected to be extradited to Alabama for trying to extort $25,000 from Hollaway’s mother to show her where the remains of her daughter are.

6. Furries and other individuals who want to let their freak flag fly are having to rein in their debauchery because of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and his law banning adult live entertainment in front of kids. Fear not, Alabama weirdos, you guys are still good to go.

5. Drag shows will continue with kids in Alabama while the Alabama ban on this mess did not even get a hearing in committee. Legislators are preparing to end the session without  the No. 2 Democrat in the state, who is still worked up about this and doesn’t even understand what drag is.

4. Former HealthSouth CEO and former Gov. Don Seigelman money man, Richard Schrushy is not done with his criminal schemes. He is accused of hiding millions to avoid paying off his restitution.

3. A road sign on I-65 in Chilton County was “hacked” to show white supremacist messages such as “Patriot Front” and “Reclaim America.” This is treated like some sort of inside job at ALEA or ALDOT, by the geniuses at aldotcom.

2. U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) has upset many people because he made observations and statements about the state of education in inner cities.

1. The debt ceiling increase deal is done, but some Republicans and Democrats say they may try to scuttle it. They will not, it will be approved.
