Authorities have since arrested Jaquez Myrick, 25, of Montgomery, in connection with the Tuskegee shooting.

“Myrick was found leaving the scene of the shooting that occurred on the campus of Tuskegee University,” the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said in a statement. “Myrick was arrested and charged federally with possession of a machine gun.”

Tuskegee is now a closed campus and has relieved its chief of campus security following the fatal shooting. The Alabama Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation.
