“Myrick was found leaving the scene of the shooting that occurred on the campus of Tuskegee University,” the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said in a statement. “Myrick was arrested and charged federally with possession of a machine gun.”

Tuskegee is now a closed campus and has relieved its chief of campus security following the fatal shooting. The Alabama Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation.
