Montgomery Whitewater is adding a new way for guests to experience the power and excitement of its course with the launch of whitewater tubing, kicking off July 4 as part of its “Red, White, and Tube” celebration.

The high-adventure activity combines the laid-back appeal of a single-person float with the movement and challenge of whitewater rafting. Unlike traditional river tubing, the new experience immerses riders in rapids, in-water obstacles, and quick turns on Montgomery Whitewater’s engineered channels.

“This is not a lazy river,” said Jason Wilson, Executive Director of Montgomery Whitewater. “Whitewater tubing gives guests a whole new way to experience the power of the course—no experience required, just a sense of adventure.”

Guests can choose between two options: Full-Flow Whitewater Tubing, delivering a high-intensity, fast-moving experience limited to the Creek Channel for Montgomery Whitewater tubes; and Low-Flow Whitewater Tubing, which offers a more approachable but still active ride on both channels. Both options require riders to actively navigate with their hands while seated in a specially designed, whitewater-certified inflatable tube.

Key details of the new offering include:

  • Single Ride Pass: $25 for a 90-minute trip, with additional same-day rides available for $10 each (subject to availability).

  • Day Pass Access: Tubing is also included in the Montgomery Whitewater day pass, allowing guests to book multiple trips throughout the day.

  • Safety Gear: Riders receive a helmet, personal flotation device (PFD), and whitewater-certified tube.

  • Age Requirements: Minimum age is 8 years old, with ages 8–11 requiring a parent or guardian on the water.

  • Capacity: Up to 25 crafts (including tubes and duckies) per trip.

  • Privately Owned Tubes: Allowed if whitewater-certified, though they are not permitted on the conveyor belt. Riders must carry tubes to and from the water.

Montgomery Whitewater emphasizes that this new amenity is a fun, lower price-point way to enter the world of whitewater recreation, while still providing an active and engaging adventure.

Whitewater duckies are also now available at the same single-ride price, adding even more ways for guests to get on the water.
