Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe will spend the last week of June as a counselor at one of the most prestigious football camps in the country.
The Manning Passing Academy, founded and run by former NFL quarterback Archie Manning with the help of his sons Peyton, Eli, and Cooper, is a four-day clinic hosted on the campus of Nicholls State University. From June 27-30, 46 college quarterbacks from across the nation will serve as camp counselors to a group of high schoolers that will number over 1,000.
“For more than 50 years, the Manning family and the quarterback position have been practically synonymous with one another,” the MPA’s website reads. “As such, their summer vacations always revolve around the annual Manning Passing Academy… a family-owned and managed football camp that embraces the basic fundamentals of football while catering to the offensive skill positions of RB, TE, WR… and of course QB.”

“The Mannings are always the first to arrive and the last to leave,” the site continues. “The concept of this camp sprang from the concern that even the most basic fundamental skills of throwing and catching a football were lacking during a youngster’s developmental years (grades 8 – 12).”
“Whether you’re a QB, RB, WR, or TE, the Manning Passing Academy will help you grasp the fundamentals of your position, and basic offensive and defensive strategies.”
Milroe will be the first quarterback from the state of Alabama to attend the event since UA’s Bryce Young in 2022.
Alongside Milroe, ten other SEC quarterbacks were invited to Thibodaux, Louisiana: Quinn Ewers (Texas), Carson Beck (Georgia), Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss), Jackson Arnold (Oklahoma), Drew Pyne (Missouri), Brady Cook (Missouri), Blake Shapen (Mississippi State), Graham Mertz (Florida), and Garrett Nussmeier (LSU). Heralded Texas redshirt freshman Arch Manning, the son of Cooper, will also be a counselor.
