Mike Rogers praises Trump’s elimination of ‘far left woke policies’ in the military

Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Saks) lauded recent executive orders by President Donald Trump that deal with getting rid of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and radical transgender policies in the military.

Trump signed an executive order Monday that officially gets rid of the DEI policies that were implemented under previous administrations. The order says, “As Chief Executive and as Commander in Chief, I am committed to meritocracy and to the elimination of race-based and sex-based discrimination within the Armed Forces of the United States. No individual or group within our Armed Forces should be preferred or disadvantaged on the basis of sex, race, ethnicity, color, or creed.”

Rogers issued a statement saying he’s glad the president is ending radical left policies in the military.

“President Trump has made it clear: our military will be focused on protecting our nation,” Rogers said. “No longer will our military waste time implementing the far left woke policies of the Biden administration. Our warfighters will be focused on lethality, capability, and readiness.”

Trump also signed an executive order Monday that prioritizes military excellence and readiness by removing those with gender dysphoria from service. The order says, “It is the policy of the United States Government to establish high standards for troop readiness, lethality, cohesion, honesty, humility, uniformity, and integrity. This policy is inconsistent with the medical, surgical, and mental health constraints on individuals with gender dysphoria. This policy is also inconsistent with shifting pronoun usage or use of pronouns that inaccurately reflect an individual’s sex.”

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) also said these orders are examples of Trump’s helping the military get back to its “true mission.”
