President Donald Trump on Tuesday visited Yuma, Arizona, to view the administration’s newly constructed 200th mile of border wall between the United States and Mexico.

Trump delivered remarks alongside law enforcement and immigration officials. According to the Associated Press, the president also received a briefing on the construction efforts and participated in a roundtable discussion with local leaders regarding border security.

There have now been approximately 216 miles of border wall built during Trump’s presidency, per Washington Examiner.

U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (AL-03), House Homeland Security Committee ranking member, issued a statement as Trump visited Yuma, celebrating the occasion.

“Congratulations to President Trump on this huge milestone,” Rogers said.

“Since the start of President Trump’s campaign, he has promised to make our country safer by ensuring the border wall system is built,” he continued. “The barrier deters illegal crossings, impedes drug trafficking, and enhances safety for our Border Patrol Agents. I’m thankful to this Administration and our border law enforcement officers for their work on an all-of-the-above strategy to secure our southern border including 21st century technology, all-weather patrol and access roads, additional agents, and the physical barrier the President viewed today.”

In the president’s public remarks while in Arizona, Trump said, “My administration has done more than any administration in history to secure our southern border. Our border has never been more secure.”

Watch:

Washington Examiner reported that the federal government is currently working 339 miles of border construction projects and is further planning how to spend funding for another 183 miles.
