According to Clarity Campaign Labs (CCL), a political data analytics company, the map above displays the “most liberal and most conservative towns” and cities in each state.

In Alabama, that means Huntsville (liberal) and Morris (conservative).

CCL created an online tool released earlier this week designed to help users identify the town in each state that best suits their political views.

The tool asks users to answer the following seven questions with “agree, disagree or don’t include” to determine their political ideology:

  • I identify with the Democrats more so than the Republicans.
  • Abortion should be legal and accessible to all women.
  • I attend religious services regularly.
  • Climate change is an immediate concern that must be addressed.
  • There should be more restrictions on purchasing and carrying guns.
  • The government should reduce the deficit primarily by raising taxes rather than cutting services.
  • I prefer urban areas.

Answering “agree” to any of the above questions accept for the one about attending religious services is considered “liberal.”

Answering “agree” to all of the questions except for the religious one unsurprisingly yields Huntsville, Birmingham and Montgomery as the Alabama cities that most likely suit your political beliefs.

Answer the opposite and small towns like Baileyton, Ranburne, Bankston, Cragford and Weogufka might suit you best.

The tool suggests Kimberly, Mount Olive, Satsuma, Morris and Trussville as towns that are well-suited to conservatives who prefer access to a more urban lifestyle.

To find out what area of the state best fits your political beliefs, head over to the Clarity Campaign Labs website.
